Let The Right On In is a swedish clut classic that came out in 2008 about a bullied 12 year old boy who befriends and falls in love with a vampire girl who helps him get back at the people who bullied him. I saw the movie when it was in theatres in Chicago, and I can tell you it was amazing to watch the story unfold on a big screen like that.
It's an extraordinary movie that is more of a coming of age story that just happens to have vampires in it. Do not mistake this with Twilight, this is the total opposite of Twilight. The movie also goes back to it's grassroots of vampire lore. Vampires can't eneter a building unless invited in, they burn in the sunlight.
Did you know that in old vampire lore, cats feared vampires and attacked vampires? This leads up to a very gruesome scene that leads to interesting turns in the movie.
The movie Let The Right One In is beign remade by Matt Reeves of Cloverfield fame. (He directed that film) His adaptation is faithful but different. His producer says that the movie isn't a remake of the Swedish movie but of the book it's based off of by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
