Ghostface is Back

After the past two scream movies, it sounds like things are heading in the right direction for Scream 4. Wes Craven tweeted the first picture from the set. Those who said a picture is worth 1,000 words is right and one of the words that pops up in my head is hope. I will be following this movie closely and posting news as soon as I get it. Scream 4 is set for an April 11, 2011 release.

Hello all, I just wanted everyone to know that we do have a facebook group right now. If you do have facebook, who ever is following, please subscribe.
Movie Commentary Ideas
Something we at the Watchtower have been experimenting on has been film fan commentaries. The idea came up when Iron Man 2 was being released and since the podcast was still just an idea at the time, we decided to try and see what people thought of film commentaries from some of the geeks at Watchtower. The commentary would have to do with a movie or idea that we talked about on the show the week before or after the podcast, so if people like the idea be expecting a commentary at least once a month and if you are lucky two a month.
Robin Hood DVD Release
One of my least favorite movies of the summer has been Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. I will get into more of my reasons for disliking the movie when we do our 2010 in Review show. The DVD and Blu Ray will be released on September 21. Both will feature the theatrical release as well as a director's cut. Now I love Ridley Scott so I will be giving the director's cut a chance. As for features on the DVD and Blu Ray, more information will be released soon along with cover art.
The Social Network
I wish that I could have posted this much sooner because my reaction to this trailer was just amazing. I should have recorded my thoughts on the trailer right away but sadly I didn't so I'll try to relive them. This trailer does everything right. With a trailer with no action at all, this film looks amazing and looks like it could be one of the best films of 2010. I have absolute faith in David Fincher and I expect an amazing film. I use the work film so rarely now, that I surprised myself when I even said it. I now am going to read the book that The Social Network is based off and I hope to have a review of the book up by the end of August. All I can really say is check it out. I will later try to have an indepth look at the trailer.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strange Tides Teaser

Sigh. Another trip with Captian Jack Sparrow. Sigh. To be honest after Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End I did not leave the theatre saying I want another Pirates movie. I left saying, good done with that, the story is over. With all the plot holes in At Worlds End, why would I want to put myself in another nightmare. Now with that being said, I will watch the news closely on this movie and report back if anything comes up. If I see promising news, pictures, and trailers, I will be there opening weekend with my 3-D glasses waiting to go to the Strange Tides.

I report on this rather unwillingly, having seen and rather liking the Yogi Bear cartoon show seeing it turned into a movie was a long time coming. I however do not have any interest seeing the movie. The poster was released and I thought ok the animation looks alright and later the same day the trailer was released and the animation looks horrible when put with live action. I can only hope that they will go back and edit this. So if anyone is interested in the trailer, it is up for all to see and will be talked about in the podcast on the Coming Soon? segment for the podcast.
